Galeone supervised instruction there for hundreds of teens and young adults—mostly men—interested in exploring a career in auto maintenance.
The 90-year-old Galeone was humbled. “I love working with the students and helping them prepare for a career in automotive technology,” said Galeone.
Tony Marchetti, Coordinator of the Automotive Department at Camden County College called Galeone “a real advocate for the industry,” adding that he was “an excellent mentor to the young men at Garfield Park Academy.” Last year, GPA became the only state-approved private school for students with disabilities in New Jersey to have its automotive program accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), and The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).“I just want to give them my best—they deserve it.”
